AWARD SCHOOL BRIEF - PR
THE BRIEF
Raise awareness of the use of single-use plastic, the majority of which is caused by only three companies, and encourage action.
THE IDEA
Rather than try to encourage a change in consumer behaviour, we approach this from a cultural angle highlighting the impact the companies that make single-use plastic are having on our oceans through an animal that holds significant cultural importance among the Aboriginal and other Pacific nations - the Binguing (turtle)
THE EXECUTION
Working with Aboriginal artists, we’ll create life-size sculptures along Bondi Beach, of Binguing - important messengers of what happens in the ocean. Each sculpture will highlight the three main companies responsible. Each sculpture will also include a QR code that will link to a story told by Aboriginal elders, of the Binguing and their last resort of escaping from their home in the sea.
